Lithuanian
Ideophonic:
no
Parallel derivation:
no
Justification:
No certain cognates outside of Balto-Slavic (cf. Latv. dižs 'great'). Commonly conntected with PIE *dei̯h₂- 'to light up' (LIV² 108, IEW 183f.), which is however problematic, as Winter's lengthening is lacking (ALEW 204-205; not in Derksen 2015, cf. also Smoczyński 2007:107-108).
