Cf. s.v. Old Lithuanian šė́kas 'Gras, Heu' (BSl. Latv. sȩ̂ks 'frisch gemähtes Gras als Viehfutter', OPr. schokis 'Gras', from PIE *k̑éh₁k⁽ʷ⁾o- 'gemähtes Gras, Heu' (cf. Ved. śāka- 'Küchenkraut, Gemüse', ONor. há 'Grummet, zweite Mahd'). The transmitted form of the Old Prussian lexeme is unexpected. Sch- does not correspond to Latv. s- as is the vowel o to Lith. ė, Latv. ȩ̂. The dependability of the IE reconstruction is impaired by these uncertainties in the Old Prussian form.
