- These Tocharian lexemes are probably better explained via PIE *dʰei̯Hgʷ- 'to sting' (cf. LIV² 142, Ringe 1988-1990:71), although are sometimes considered derivatives of *denk̑- 'to bite'. Cf. also Malzahn 2010:975-976, Adams 2013:800.
