Justification:
Light verb construction with Old Persian ham-arana- 'fight' < *'coming together' as a the semantic head. The root etymology of the semantic-bearing element of the compound ºarana- is to the Indo-Iranic verbal root *ar- < PIE *h₃er- 'to set oneself (forward) in motion' (Schmitt 2014:187-188, EWAia II:702, I:105-106, cf. LIV² 299-301).
