- The Iranian forms in this set are based on a secondary root *u̯ai(H)n- 'to see' of denominal origin, already attested in Old Iranian (Avestan vaēnaiti, Old Persian vainatiy; cf. Cheung 2007:412-413). For the primary verbal root, cf. LIV² 668-669 s.v. *u̯ei̯h₁-.
