Cognate Set 7327 – Meaning: dig

IE-CoR reference form:
?*k⁽ʷ⁾eh₂-
IE-CoR reference language:
Proto-Indo-European
Ideophonic:
no
Parallel derivation:
no
Justification:
Root ref. form for this class follows the reconstruction of LIV² 344 ?*k⁽ʷ⁾eh₂- 'to dig', but cf. EWAia I:455-456 and Cheung 2007:232-233. We may be dealing with a specifically IIr. root *kanH- (< ?*kenh₁-, if the comparison to Phrygian keneman (a monument or part of it) is correct). LIV² 344n1 assumes the creation of a neo-root within Indo-Iranic on the basis of the nasal-present stem *k⁽ʷ⁾-né/n̥-h₂-.
